Modular Homes Are More (or less) Than They Use To Be!
Have you seen the modular homes made from alternative materials? Does anyone you know have one?
Since I learned about the 'Tumbleweeds', I've been working to increase my knowledge on all types of building construction. Not because I know of any like this in my area - mostly because I find it really interesting.
Shipping or Storage Containers are pretty useful too!
From This --- To This
The number of alternative materials is astounding! All types of structures including freight train containers, concrete slab products, and any number of recycled materials that can be re-recycled again, and of course solarized heating. These are not just for temporary shelters in disaster areas - rather really beautiful uniques living spaces.
The ideas behind it:
Use Less Space
Preserve Natural Resources
Leave a Smaller Ecological Footprint
More Affordable Housing
Lower Energy Bills Up to 40%
I love the idea in theory, but has anyone you know lived in one? A cabin retreat maybe?
And what a great studio space for artists too! Yikes! I think I want one!!!
